On December 24th we loaded the transmitter, antenna and everything necessary to generate its power into the special 130 box Landrover. At about noon we headed again to the Hakwe mountain. Unfortunately heavy rains in the morning made the road at the bottom of Hakwe very slippery. But it had been just as if many angles would hold the car from slipping in the deep washed out ditch next to the road.

But half way up the unpreventable happened> all 4 wheels started to spin forward, while the car was returning backward. The road was simply still too slippery to carry the heavy van!

It slipped backward and the safari stopped in a ditch! From there many people started to help to get the car free again. After that time the rest of the way up had dried enough to enable the van climbing up without getting stuck again.

It started to get dark, when we fixed the antennas on the new antenna mast, but the TTCL watchmen helped us with his torch, to finish the work. At about 8 o clock in the evening the transmitter was on air.

The moon did not come yet. It was a dark clear night. But the stars were more bright than usual! It was when all the people remembered the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. It was so nice to help all the thousand listeners on the East of Kilimanjaro with the Good news of His birth.
