Bishop Nehemia Bomani is no more

Nehemia Bomani one of the Bishops of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT) died suddenly November 1, 2007 following a tragic accident at his home in Mwanza.

According to the Deputy Secretary General of Finance and Administration of ELCT Mr. Aminiel Mungure, on the fateful day, the Bishop was inspecting renovation of a house when an old wall gave way and collapsed on him.

Born 1958 at Bupandagila in Bariadi District, Shinyanga Region, Bomani was the Bishop of the Mwanza based ELCT East of Lake Victoria since 2001.

He had attained a Master of Arts Degree from Concordia University in St. Paul, United States of America where he enrolled in 2004 and a graduate of Makumira University Colllege in Arusha, Tanzania having obtained a Bachelor of Divinity Degree in 1998.

He worked in the East of Lake Victoria as Parish Pastor from 1988 to 1992; District Pastor 1992 - 1995 and Assistant to the Bishop 1996 - 2000.

He is survived by a widow, Neema Bomani and seven children.

Funeral Service will take place at the Imani Cathedral in Mwanza at midday 6th November, 2007.

Nehemia Bomani ambaye ni mmoja wa Maaskofu wa Kanisa la Kiinjili la Kilutheri Tanzania (KKKT) amefariki dunia ghafla mnamo Novemba 1, 2007 kufuatia ajali iliyotokea nyumbani kwake mjini Mwanza.

Kwa mujibu wa Naibu Katibu Mkuu Fedha na Utawala KKKT Bw. Aminiel Mungure, siku hiyo ya tukio, Askofu alikuwa akikagua ukarabati wa nyumba ndipo ukuta wa zamani ukamwangukia.

Bomanai ambaye alizaliwa 1958 upandagila Wilaya ya Bariadi, Mkoani
Shinyanga, alikuwa askofu wa Dayosisi ya Mashariki ya Ziwa Victoria ambayo
ina makao yake mjini Mwanza tangu 2001.

Alipata Shahada ya Juu ya Sanaa toka Chuo Kikuu cha Concordia kilichopo St.
Paul, Marekani alipojiunga mwaka 2004 na alihitimu mwaka 1998 Shahada ya
Masomo ya Dini (Bachelor of Divinity) katika Chuo Kikuu Kishiriki cha Makumira, Arusha.

Alitumikia Dayosisi yake ya Mashariki ya Ziwa Victoria kati ya 1988 hadi 1992 kama Mchungaji wa Usharika; Mkuu wa Jimbo1992 - 1995 na Msaidizi wa Askofu 1996 - 2000.

Ameacha mke, Neema Bomani, na watoto saba.

Ibada ya mazishi itafanyika katika Kanisa Kuu Imani la Mwanza mchana wa tarehe 6 Novemba, 2007.
