Fihavango appointed Director of Lutheran Junior Seminary, Morogoro
His appointment as the new LJS director was endorsed by the ELCT Council meeting that met in Arusha from 19 to 20 August, 2009. He studied at Makumira between 5 September 1989 and 7 July 1994 for a Bachelor of Divinity (BD) and was ordained on 7 August 1994 as Pastor in Kidugala. From July 1996 to 26 January 1996 he taught at Kidugala Lutheran Seminary. Between 15 August 1994 and 14 June1996 he studied for Masters of Philosophy in Religion (M. Phil) in Oslo, Norway specializing in New Testament, Systematic Theology and Philosophy of Religion studies. From 1996 to 1997 he simultaneously served as Assistant to the Kidugala Parish Pastor and as teacher and between 1997 and 26 January 1999 was Chaplain and teacher at Kidugala Lutheran Seminary. He joined Makumira Lutheran Theological College (now MUCo) in 1999 and became Assistant Lecturer (New Testament) for a year and then also became Chaplain. From March to August 2006 he was the Director of Internship at MUCo. After attending a one-year German language course, he was in April 2001 accepted as doctoral student at Augustana University - Germany and graduated as PhD holder on 23 July 2005. From June 2006 to September 2009 he was Dean Faculty of Theology and Editor of Africa Theological Journal (ATJ). He has authored numerous monographs and articles.
