5th Presiding Bishop To Be Installed

Bishop Dr. Fredrick Onael Shoo will be installed on 31 January 2016 to become the 5th Presiding Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT) during a Sunday Service to be held at the ELCT Lutheran Cathedral in Moshi.

About 5,000 people from within and outside the country are expected to attend the installation ceremony to be presided over by the out-going Presiding Bishop Dr. Alex Gehaz Malasusa.

Among the prominent personalities to attend the installation service is the General Secretary of Lutheran World Federation (LWF), Rev. Martin Junge.

A statement issued by the ELCT Secretary General, Mr. Brighton Killewa, has urged members of the congregation to thank God for the success of 19th ELCT Assembly that led to the election of Bishop Shoo urging them to pray for God’s protection for the incumbent and the forthcoming Presiding Bishops and their families.

The statement urged church members to continue praying for the preparations and safety of all those who will travel to Moshi for the installation service. They should also pray that speeches and statements to be made during the ceremony become an opportunity to forge unity in the church and in the country.

Mkuu mpya wa Kanisa la Kiinjili la Kilutheri Tanzania (KKKT) Askofu Dkt. Fredrick Onael Shoo anatarajiwa kuingizwa kazini rasmi tarehe 31 Januari 2016 ili kuongoza Kanisa kwa miaka minne ijayo.

Katika taarifa yake aliyoitoa kwa vyombo vya habari 15 Jan 2015, Katibu Mkuu wa KKKT, Bw. Brighton Killewa, amewataka washarika wote wana KKKT kuomba na kumshukuru Mungu kwa kuungoza Mkutano Mkuu wa 19 uliofanyika Makumira Agosti 2015 hadi akachaguliwa Askofu Dkt. Shoo kuwa Mkuu wa KKKT.

Aidha kipekee maombi yaelekezwe kuomba ulinzi wa Mungu kwa Mkuu wa Kanisa aliye kazini, Askofu Dkt. Alex Malasusa, na atakayeingizwa kazini pamoja na familia zao.

Taarifa imeomba washarika wazidi kuombea maandalizi na safari za wote watakaohudhia Ibada ya kumwingiza kazini Mkuu huyo wa KKKT 31 Jan 2016 katika Kanisa Kuu la KKKT Dayosisi ya Kaskazini, Moshi Mjini.

Pia ameomba maombi yafanyike ili hotuba zote kuanzia ya mgeni rasmi hadi za viongozi wote zielekezwe kujenga umoja wa Kanisa na wa Taifa.
