Leaders of ELCT and NALC meet in Arusha

The leader of the North American Lutheran Church (NALC), Bishop John F. Bradosky, on January 30, 2017, held discussions in Arusha, Tanzania, with the Presiding Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT), Dr. Fredrick Shoo.

Others who attended the meeting were the ELCT Secretary General, Mr. Brighton Killewa, and Rev. Dr. David Wendel, the NALC Assistant to the Bishop for Ministry and Ecumenism.

Mr. Killewa said the purpose of the visit by the two-man delegation that arrived in Tanzania on 29 January, was to visit the ELCT in order to meet with the Presiding Bishop.

Before coming to Tanzania, the NALC delegation visited the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY) that held its General Assembly 22 – 28 January, 2017, and elected Rev. Yonas Yigezu to become the President of EECMY for the next four years.

NALC is based in Hilliard, Ohio, in the United States of America, and is comprised of congregations in the United States of America as well as Canada..
